My first memory is Wonder Woman. She has been my hero for my entire life. I was given my first 1/6 scale Mego Wonder Woman action doll at age 3 and Mego action figure at age 4. And I played... constantly, sun up to sun down, I played until poor Wonder Woman was a dirty, broken, super-glued, and broken-and-wonder-glued-again shadow of herself. I like to think I would have  done things differently had I known that it would be nearly a decade before toy makers made another Wonder Woman anything.

This was a time before cell phones or eBay. Back when the internet was what you called the lining in your swim shorts. There was no Amazon either, and Walmart was the mom and pop shop. Mental Health awareness wasn't much of a thing yet either, or my lengthy depression might not have gone completely unnoticed.  I don't know how much longer it would have gone on if one day, while exploring under a sink or in a cabinet, I hadn't realized that some of these strings, pipe cleaners, and random bits of colored plastic looked like scraps from a superhero clothing design store.  And, after wildly  improving my scissor and super glue skills, when I began to put these everyday items from around the house in the right combination (with a borrowed Barbie or two from a neighbor or cousin) I was able to make my own Wonder Woman Action Figure Doll.
